Transportation:
You are responsible for your own transportation to ministry sites each day.
Sample Schedule:
- Saturday: arrive afternoon, evening dinner and orientation.
- Sunday: worship at an urban church followed by a city scavenger hunt and outreach.
- Mon-Wed: morning training on cross-cultural ministry, and biblical justice issues; afternoons and evenings are spent serving at urban ministry sites.
- Thursday: morning debrief, afternoon free time, evening celebration banquet.
- Friday: take your passion for the lost back to campus!
Things to Bring:
Sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, towel, gym shoes, work clothes, casual wear, money for dinners
and other minor expenses for sight-seeing, and transportation. Bring one nicer set of clothing for the Thursday night banquet.
Other Information:
You will have opportunities to share your faith in Christ with children, youth, and adults in the city. You will work alongside seasoned inner-city Christian workers at various host-ministry sites doing a variety of activities including work projects, assisting in after-school children's programs, and community outreach. Some words to describe the week of Urban Immersion are "packed," "fast-paced," "challenging," "faith-stretching," ... and, guaranteed to be one you won't soon forget!
